Focusing Training and Certification

Overview

Certified focusing-oriented therapist Beth Mahler, LCSW, and I are co-facilitating a focusing training and certification program. Through this program, you will deepen your focusing practice and develop the competencies required for certification as a focusing trainer. • Enhance your awareness of your body. • Renew your connection with your inner depths. • Find your own way with focusing. • Explore how focusing enriches your living. • Develop your capacities as a focuser, a listener, and a focusing trainer. • Experience a variety of approaches and applications that can support your focusing practice. • Enjoy learning with and from a supportive community of fellow focusers. Entirely online, the 2025-2027 focusing training and certification program includes the following learning opportunities: • twelve one-hour initial coaching sessions, followed by an unlimited number of one-to-one focusing-support sessions during the training program; • a two-to-three-hour class meeting every two weeks, which will occasionally be co-facilitated by other members of the teaching team, who specialize in a particular area of interest; and • ongoing opportunities to explore concepts and to practice skills in peer focusing partnerships. Classes meet on Zoom on the first and third Thursdays of the month, 3:15pm-5:30pm Eastern, beginning on January 16, 2025. For more information, please email me. PAYMENT & CANCELLATION POLICY: • If you decide to register after your free Q&A session, you will be billed for a $200 deposit, which will serve as your first payment toward the total fee. • If you make two annual payments of $2,200, you will save $400. Otherwise, you may make 24 monthly payments of $200 for a total of $4,800. • If you cancel your registration before the first class meeting, your initial deposit will be refunded, and no additional payments will be collected. • If you withdraw from the program after it has begun, your payments to date, including your deposit, will not be reimbursed. However, no additional payments will be due. • The International Focusing Institute will charge additional fees for membership and certification. • Similarly, if you decide to attend any optional in-person immersive retreats, you will be responsible for tuition, travel, room, and board.
